inaugural event scores 5 out of 5 stars

The kick-off event scores big with 100% of crafters that attend.  A record breaking satisfaction rate!
For those of you that missed CRE8.09, you missed the best crafting event to date.

A special thanks goes out to M.F.... and all of the other teachers and volunteers at the event.

Next year can only get better... and the countdown begins!

Mabelle's Class - Updated Supply List

Hello Ladies,

Shocking everyone, including myself, I actually finished my project and can now provide you all with a comprehensive supply list. See below.

Essential tools:
Scissors
Piercing tool
Crop-a-dile
Liquid adhesive
Glue gun/glue sticks
Modge Podge
3 foam brushes (small ones)
Thick black Sharpee or black paint pen
Patience :)

Bring 'em if you have 'em (I'll have mine and we can share):
2.0mm screwdriver
Gold metallic paint pen
Acrylic Paint Dabber in "Stream"***

Not necessary but recommended:
Small detail paintbrush

***Totally optional. I used this for the prototype. I like the way it looks but as these dabbers can be hard to find and can be a pain to use, I'll also provide regular acrylic paint at the class.

If you have any questions about anything, holla at yer girl.

EATS

OK, we all know that crafting is our primary purpose in life...well, at least during Cre8.09.  However, we could all agree that eating yummy food is absolutely the next highest priority!  Since we're staying at Casa de Margarita, there are lots of options for food.  These are just suggestions, things and places to think about so that we don't do the hmmmm-ing and haw-ing, trying to pin down where to go or what to eat.

There's a really cool Mexican restaurant (it ain't no Robertos) in Escondido called Cenote Grill.  Good, unique choices at reasonable prices.  See if this is something you might enjoy as a way to kick off our special event.

As for breakfasts, lunches and snacks we can eat "at home"...a fully stocked kitchen awaits us!  We can run to the supermarket and pick up our favorite stuff for breakfast and snacks, and maybe a lunch or two, too.  We can always run down the hill into "town" for a quick bite as well.  The mall is very close with Red Robin, Macaroni Grill, On The Border, Nordstrom Cafe -- and the food court.

Feel free to bring whatever comfort food is a must-have for you!

"Favor"ite Part

Anyone up for picking their "favor"ite day to leave surprises for the others?  Since there are five of us, maybe a morning AND evening treat might be in order...starting with Friday night.  I'd like to pick Saturday morning, if that's OK with everyone.  How 'bout you?  Leave a comment on this post or send an email with your choice.  Ooooh, ain't this excitin'?!
